If you’ve walked around Hillsborough in the last few weeks you’ve likely seen the colorful displays of art and signage heralding the 2017 Spring Garden Tour, May 20 and 21, 2017. Every other year the Hillsborough Garden Club and the Alliance for Historic Hillsborough handpicks local homeowners for a tour of their beautiful gardens.

This year’s theme is “Town and Country” and features more than a dozen private homes and public gardens within the historic district and northern Orange County. An interactive map of the tour’s private and public gardens, as well as local attractions of interest can be viewed here.

Members of the New Hope Audubon Society, Orange County Master Gardeners and Orange County Beekeepers Association will be present to take questions and distribute educational material at several of the tour locations.

In conjunction with the Spring Garden Tour, a plant sale will take place at the Passmore Center on May 19 and 20, and the club’s first ever “Photography in the Garden,” exhibit is currently underway inside the Passmore Center.

Tickets are still available for $25 and can be purchased at the Hillsborough Visitors Center or online here.
