Muriel Williman, education and outreach coordinator for Orange County Solid Waste Management, shares a handful of composed kitchen scraps with red wiggler worms.

In an extremely informative and entertaining presentation at our September meeting, guest speaker Muriel Williman, education and outreach coordinator for Orange County Solid Waste Management, shared her knowledge of indoor and outdoor composting. Muriel commended the Club for reciting the Conservation Pledge at the beginning of our meetings, and she was impressed with the number of members in attendance who are actively composting at home. She gave us composting tips, brought along one of her indoor vermicomposting bins, and showed us her favorite worms for indoor composting—red wigglers.

Following the meeting, hostess Trish Koontz invited members to tour her extensive and  beautiful gardens. Thanks, Trish, for sharing them with us!

Nothing but a handful of dirt and worms left from these kitchen scraps.
