Three Cheers for the 2015 Holiday Home Tour

Hometown HolidaysThe Hillsborough Chamber of Commerce’s 2015 Holiday Home Tour was another terrific success and the Garden Club was delighted to be asked once again to decorate several of the tour sites.

The Garden Club teams did a superb job with our three assigned sites. Laura Simmons and her assistant Phyllis Simon, did an outstanding job coordinating with the Hillsborough Chamber and the Orange Community Players, as well as with dozens of club members who spent hours making decorations, sourcing supplies, winding garlands and decorating tour sites.

Our three decorating locations included the historic home known as Burnside, the Burwell School historic site, and the upper floor of the Old Courthouse. We also decorated the downtown planters and “Jack,” the upcycled metal sculpture who welcomes people to the downtown parking lot.

Team leaders for these sites gave many hours of time and talent and include:

  • Planters – Andrea Lewis, Sally and Jim Boericke (no team leader)
  • Jack, Museum, old Courthouse – Laura Simmons, Phyllis Simon, Bruce Taggart
  • Burnside – Alice Moore
  • Burwell – Kate Faherty, Dolly Hunnell

We wish to thank each one of you who worked on the Holiday Home Tour in the planning, decorating and taking down the city sites. We could not have done it without your willing hands and generous time.

Thanks go to Phyllis Simon for submitting the following photos from the Holiday Home Tour.

If anyone has additional photos, please send them to Nancy Espersen, who will ensure they are included in this year’s scrapbook.
